This Chilliwack Golf Club wedding was fast-paced, joyful, and filled with so much heart from start to finish. Kaitie and Tanner planned a day that felt completely true to who they are — classic, playful, full of family, and unapologetically themselves — with just the right amount of Star Wars magic woven throughout.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a cookie-cutter wedding day. It was one of those days where every detail had a story behind it, and every moment felt intentional.

Getting Ready with Laughter and Anticipation

Kaitie and Tanner are one of those couples who are just fun to be around. Old-fashioned in the sweetest way, endlessly kind, and with Tanner cracking jokes whenever nerves tried to sneak in. The morning moved quickly, but there was an underlying calm — the kind that comes from knowing you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. Even with a quick mend to ripped pants and a missing hook on Kaitie's dress.

Kaitie’s look came together beautifully with soft glam by Makeup by Ally Lynn and hair by Bridal Hair by Tiff, setting the tone for a romantic day with a playful edge. The wedding party wore varying shades of red and maroon, perfectly tying into the overall colour palette with a subtle nod to their Star Wars theme.

An Outdoor Ceremony with Personal Touches

The ceremony space at Chilliwack Golf Club is one of my favourites. It gives you that fully-outdoors feeling with wide open views, while still offering a sense of structure and intimacy. It’s easy to see why they chose this venue — it’s equal parts scenic and welcoming, which is exactly what Kaitie and Tanner wanted.

One of the most emotional moments came early on, when Kaitie’s sister played piano and sang during the ceremony. It was heartfelt, raw, and had more than a few people reaching for tissues.

Then came one of the cutest aisle moments I’ve ever witnessed: Kaitie and Tanner’s puppy trotting down the aisle with a sign on his collar reading, “Daddy, here comes mommy.” Safe to say, there wasn’t a dry eye — or an un-smiling face — in sight.

When Kaitie’s dad walked her down the aisle, the exchange between him and Tanner was incredibly touching. The love and mutual respect between them was obvious, and I’ll admit, I teared up a little behind the camera.

A Reception That Felt Like Them

This Chilliwack Golf Club wedding reception was where Kaitie and Tanner’s personalities really shined. Each table was numbered with a meaningful location the couple had traveled to together, turning the seating chart into a walk through their memories. Valley Weddings and Events really nailed the decor putting it all together.

And then there was the Star Wars theme — “May the Fourth Be With You” done right. From the ring bearers wearing Darth Vader masks and carrying lightsabers,an amazing cake and mini Yoda cup cakes created by Reddy Made Cakes, to a Yoda statue that doubled as both décor and the ring holder (and was later passed around by the kids), it was nerdy in the best possible way.

The colour palette of red, maroon, and touches of green tied everything together beautifully, with décor by Valley Weddings Decor adding warmth and cohesion to the space.

Food, Dancing, and a Fast-Moving Night

One thing guests still talk about? The food. Chilliwack Golf Club absolutely delivered — warm, delicious, and perfect for keeping the energy up during a fast-paced evening.

With Dalen Entertainment DJ keeping the dance floor alive, the night flew by. There was laughter, heartfelt toasts, and plenty of moments that reminded everyone just how loved Kaitie and Tanner are.

As hybrid photographers, we loved being able to capture both photo and video seamlessly throughout the day. It allowed us to document not just how everything looked, but how it felt — the laughter, the emotions, and the quiet in-between moments that make a wedding day unforgettable.
