Sara & Jeremy’s intimate Chilliwack elopement at Gwynne Vaughan Park.

Intimate Chilliwack Elopement at Gwyne Vaughn Park | Sara & Jeremy
Some love stories begin in the most unexpected ways — and Sara and Jeremy’s story is proof that distance means nothing when two people are meant to find each other. Their intimate elopement at Gwynne Vaughan Park was filled with heartfelt moments, family connection, laughter, and so much love.
From meeting online to building a life together in Chilliwack, their wedding day reflected everything that mattered most to them: authenticity, simplicity, and being surrounded by the people they love most.
From Virginia to Chilliwack: A Modern Love Story
Sara and Jeremy first met online, and their connection quickly grew into something undeniable. Jeremy eventually made the big move from Virginia to Chilliwack so they could start their next chapter together.
Funny enough, during the wedding planning process, I almost didn’t answer Jeremy’s first phone call because his Virginia phone number looked suspiciously like a scam call. Thankfully I picked up — because documenting their wedding day ended up being such a meaningful experience.
A Quiet and Emotional First Look
Their elopement day began at Gwynne Vaughan Park, one of Chilliwack’s most peaceful and scenic locations for intimate weddings and elopements.
Sara’s parents walked her into the park where Jeremy waited patiently for their first look. The moment he turned around and saw her was emotional and incredibly genuine. Surrounded by towering trees and quiet pathways, the park created the perfect atmosphere for such an intimate moment.
After their first look, the two of them exchanged private personal vows while everyone respectfully gave them space to fully embrace the moment together. Those quiet minutes felt incredibly meaningful — just the two of them, sharing promises and emotions without distraction.
Champagne, Charcuterie & Family Moments
Before the ceremony officially began, Sara’s grandma arrived and everyone gathered together to celebrate with snacks, champagne, and conversation. The beautiful charcuterie spread from Hofstede's Country Barn added such a cozy and welcoming touch to the afternoon.
These slower moments are often the most memorable parts of an elopement day. There was no rush — just time spent fully present with the people who mattered most.
An Intimate Legal Ceremony in Chilliwack
Once the marriage commissioner arrived, Sara and Jeremy held their legal ceremony surrounded by close family beneath the trees at Gwynne Vaughan Park.
The simplicity of the ceremony made it even more emotional. Every laugh, every tear, and every glance between them felt intentional and genuine. It was a beautiful reminder that weddings don’t need to be large to feel incredibly meaningful.
After the ceremony, we captured family portraits followed by romantic couples portraits throughout the park. The soft natural scenery paired perfectly with the relaxed and intimate feeling of the day.
Pie & Ice Cream Instead of Cake
One of the most unique parts of Sara and Jeremy’s elopement was skipping the traditional wedding cake in favour of pie and ice cream — honestly, an amazing choice.
Their delicious pie from Benanna Bakery was the perfect personal touch and fit the laid-back atmosphere of the celebration beautifully.
Celebrating at District 1881
Once portraits wrapped up for the afternoon, Sara and Jeremy headed off to dinner with their closest family and friends at The Offy Bistro in District 1881.
It was the perfect ending to a wedding day focused entirely on connection, intention, and celebrating their relationship in a way that felt true to them.
