A Beautiful Summer Wedding at Grandview Acres in Kamloops

Janessa and Kosta’s wedding at Grandview Acres was the perfect Kamloops summer celebration. The day brought bright sunshine, big fluffy white clouds drifting across the sky, and a joyful group of family and friends ready to celebrate their love.

Their story with us began even before the wedding day. When we launched our rebrand as Daisy and Lily Photography and revealed our brand-new website, we celebrated with a wedding giveaway—and Janessa and Kosta were the lucky winners. From that moment on, we knew their day would be something special.

Getting Ready: Laughter, Tears, and Anticipation

Janessa spent the morning getting ready in the beautiful bridal suite at Grandview Acres. She was surrounded by her closest friends and her daughter, filling the room with laughter and stories from the night before.

Hair and makeup were beautifully done by Cassidy Watt Artistry, creating a relaxed and glowing bridal look for the day.

Throughout the morning, there were many emotional moments between Janessa and her daughter—happy tears, hugs, and quiet anticipation for what the day would bring.

Kosta’s grandmother, Nona, stopped in frequently to check on Janessa, adding another sweet family touch to the morning preparations.

Meanwhile, Kosta was getting ready at home with his groomsmen and their two sons. The emotions were already strong from the start—Kosta shed more than a few happy tears as the reality of the day set in.

In true wedding-day fashion, Janessa also surprised the groomsmen by “icing” them with Smirnoff Ice before the ceremony, creating plenty of laughter before the emotional moments ahead.

An Emotional Outdoor Ceremony in Kamloops

The ceremony, beautifully coordinated by Olivia Grace Productions, was filled with heartfelt emotion and meaningful moments.

From the moment the ceremony began, Kosta was visibly emotional. Their officiant shared their love story from the very beginning, setting the tone for a ceremony that was deeply personal and meaningful.

Their vows were incredibly heartfelt, reflecting the journey that brought them together.

One of the most powerful moments came when Kosta made vows to his daughter, whom he had adopted. During the ceremony he shared promises directly with her and gifted her a bracelet—a moment that beautifully represented the love and unity of their family.

Celebrating with Family and Friends

Following the ceremony, something unexpected happened—an impromptu receiving line formed.

Guests gathered to hug, congratulate, and celebrate with the newlyweds. While receiving lines are often considered traditional, they create one of the most genuine opportunities for couples to connect with every guest who came to celebrate with them.

Janessa and Kosta were intentional about how they spent their wedding day. Their biggest priority was being present and enjoying the celebration with guests

To make this possible, we intentionally kept the formal photo schedule short.

Family photos were limited to immediate family with a carefully organized list so everything could move quickly. Wedding party photos focused less on traditional posing and more on capturing natural, candid moments of the group enjoying time together.

For their portraits, Janessa and Kosta took a short moment alone—just the two of them—to soak in the excitement of being newly married while we captured a few meaningful keepsake images.

A Relaxed and Fun Wedding Reception

The reception began with Janessa and Kosta entering directly into their first dance, creating a beautiful and emotional start to the evening.

Dinner was served by La Cucina Catering and Event Services and featured a relaxed menu of hamburgers with all the fixings alongside a variety of fresh and delicious salads—perfect for a summer wedding celebration.

The speeches throughout the evening were short, heartfelt, and full of meaning.

Instead of doing a traditional bouquet toss, Janessa chose a more meaningful moment. She presented bouquets to her mom, her stepmom, and her mother-in-law—honoring the important role they have played in supporting Janessa and Kosta throughout their lives.

A Dance Floor Full of Energy

Once the speeches wrapped up, the celebration really began.

Between lawn games outside and a lively dance floor inside, guests kept the energy going all night long. Thanks to the music and coordination by Olivia Grace Productions, the party never slowed down.

The night ended for us with cake cutting—and plenty of laughter—as Janessa playfully shared icing with friends nearby, leaving a few guests with frosting-covered faces and smiles all around.

A Kamloops Wedding Focused on Joy and Connection

Janessa and Kosta’s wedding at Grandview Acres was a beautiful reminder that the most meaningful wedding days are the ones where couples allow themselves to truly be present.
