Home engagemen session on the Fraser River |Brittany and Daryn
Brittany and Daryl invited us to their beautiful home in Maple Ridge right on the river.
Engagement sessions are a time to get comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day. Before you session we will plan a location and or activity to make your session be as fun and relaxing as possible. Brittany and Daryl were a little hesitant about an engagement session but with some encouragement they agreed. The two of them spend a lot of time out on their boat. We originally planned on spending the day going on the river and stopping in Fort Langley. But big shocker... It rained. I feel like I am forever talking about rain during weddings and engagement sessions but it's not called raincouver for nothing. We decided to just change our plans rather than postponing. Brittany and Daryl invited us to their beautiful home in Maple Ridge that is right on the river! Like come on when your home looks like a vacation destination why would you choose otherwise! This spot was perfect since home is truly where you are most comfortable.
When we arrived we were greeted at the door by their adorable labradoodle Teddy. After a few hello pets and cuddles we got our gear set up. Daryn had already set them mood with classic romantic songs playing in the background and warming their home with their fireplace. Beverages in hand they were ready for us. Since the rain had eased off we thought it was best to start outside on their dock. This really felt like a cabin or lake house not just an every day house it was incredible. We enjoyed the view and admired the neighbours collection of signs that they had set up on the side of their shed. When it started to rain again we moved back inside to the warmth and coziness with the view still in site from their picture windows. Teddy joined in for some photos and I think this might be the start to his modelling career.
