Abbotsford Vintage Car Engagement Session| Sarah and Jordan
An Abbotsford Tulip Farm wedding season engagement session at Lakeland Flowers.

A Retro, Adventure-Filled Abbotsford Tulip Farm Wedding Season Engagement for Sarah & Jordan
This Abbotsford Tulip Farm wedding season engagement session with Sarah and Jordan was pure joy from start to finish — colorful, carefree, and full of movement. Even though this was an engagement shoot (not the big day just yet), it felt like a perfect preview of the kind of love and energy they’ll be bringing into their wedding celebration.
From the moment we met up, it was obvious these two are happiest when they’re adventuring together, soaking up sunshine, and laughing their way through life side by side.
Meeting Up Among the Tulips
We kicked things off at The Lakeland Flower Fields in Abbotsford on one of those warm, full-sun days that instantly puts everyone in a good mood. The fields were bursting with color, which perfectly matched Sarah and Jordan’s retro, adventure-loving vibe.
One of the biggest reasons they chose this location was how vibrant and open it feels — plus, it gave them easy access to incorporate something incredibly special to them: Jordan’s classicmVW Bug convertible. This car isn’t just a prop; it’s a piece of their story. It was gifted to Jordan by his parents, and it represents so many of their favorite moments together — just driving around with nowhere to be.
Watching them settle into the shoot felt effortless. There was no stiffness, no nerves — just the two of them being completely themselves.
A Little Nostalgia on Four Wheels
The VW Bug quickly became the star of the session (rightfully so). Between cozy moments sitting inside the car and playful shots leaning against it in the tulip fields, everything felt intimate and nostalgic.
At one point, Sarah and Jordan hopped in and drove off slowly as the sun dipped lower. I remember thinking how much it reminded me of the final scene in Grease — Sandy and Danny driving off together, happy and wildly in love. It was one of those moments you don’t plan but instantly know you’ll never forget.
Sessions like this are exactly why I love engagement shoots. They give couples the space to just be together — no pressure, no timeline, just connection.
A Picnic, a River, and Mountain Views
After soaking up all the color and warmth at the tulip farm, we made our way to McDonald Park in Abbotsford. The shift in scenery was perfect — from bold florals to calm river views with mountains stretching up behind us.
Sarah and Jordan brought along a picnic, which felt so fitting for them. It was relaxed, sweet, and very much in line with how they love to spend time together. Sitting by the river, sharing laughs, and taking in the view created a totally different energy from earlier — quieter, softer, but just as full of love.
The combination of these two locations made the session feel like a mini adventure, which is exactly what they were hoping for.
Capturing the Feeling, Not Just the Photos
The overall feeling of this session was warmth — from the sunshine to the way Sarah and Jordan look at each other. There was so much visible love, excitement, and ease between them.
As hybrid photographers, we were able to capture both photo and video seamlessly throughout the day, preserving not just how everything looked, but how it felt. The movement, the laughter, the in-between moments — those are the things that tell the real story.
